Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That's it. No big deal. Just three stories. The first story is about connecting the dots.
I dropped out of Reed College after the first six months but then stayed around as a drop-in for another eighteen months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out? It started before I was born. My was a young, unwed graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife, except that when I popped out, they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking, "We've got an unexpected baby boy. Do you want him?" They said, "Of course." My biological mother found out later that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would go to college.
This was the start in my life. And seventeen years later, I did go to college, but I chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my collegeAfter six months, I couldn't see the value in it. I loved it. And much of what I by following my turned out to be priceless later on. Let me give you one example.

在大力提倡减负的教育形式下，让学生在有限的时光里学好英语应当是我们每个英语教师的追求，教学过程中有太多的细节需要我们去探索。经过课堂实践，我发现英语教学如果只限于对单词、句型的识记，会使课堂气氛沉闷，使学生失去对英语学习的热情。那么，怎样才能使学生喜欢学英语呢?以下是我的点滴体会和心得：
一、创设英语氛围
1.在教学互动过程中应以英语为主体，结合手势、眼神、动作、音调等辅助手段来帮忙学生理解教学资料;并且在教学过程中创设各种情景，让学生来对话，经过应对面的语言交流来培养语感。在学到过去时态时，我会和学生交流前一天或过去发生的趣事，吸引学生注意力，自然引入新课。“Practicemakes perfect。”，注意培养学生用英语来进行思维、表达的习惯，从而使学生在用到英语的时候能张口就来。
2、经过学生参与实践活动、合作、探索等方式，培养听、说、读、写的综合本事和整体素质。在英语课堂上，尽可能多地用英语进行交流;在课外，鼓励孩子们多听、多说、多用、多看和英语相关的东西，比如让孩子留意：食品包装袋上“Don’tlittereverywhere。”这样的句子，不仅仅学了英语，还进行了环保教育。引导孩子们关注和我们的生活息息相关的英语，把英语教学融入日常生活中，让孩子尽可能多地接触、运用英语，和英语做朋友，那么孩子在学习英语时就不会敬而远之了。
二、让每个孩子都有收获
兴趣不是与生俱来的，它是经过一次次成功的体验培养起来的，所以，在课堂上给不一样层次的孩子供给展示自我和体验成功的机会，让他们在每一节英语课上都能有所收获，从而使他们慢慢地爱上英语，爱上学习。
1。关注每个孩子，鼓励他们: Open your mouth， speak Englishaloud!欣赏他们的表现，提倡他们从错误中学习，及时发现他们的点滴提高并大力表扬，树立自信心，保护他们的进取性。
2。异常要关爱后进生和性格内向的孩子，尽可能为他们供给正确表现自我的机会，让每一次小小的突破成为他们提高的基石。
3。制定合理的机制，促进课堂合作学习活动的开展，提倡学生互相学习、互相帮忙、体验成功、合作发展。
三、授之以渔
“授之以鱼”不如“授之以渔”，我们不仅仅要帮忙学生学会知识，同时还要不断渗透学习英语的方法和技能，逐步培养学生在没有教师搀扶的情景下能够独立行走，并能走得日趋稳健，树立孩子们学习英语的自信心，为孩子们的终身学习奠定基础。
听、说、读、写不仅仅是英语学习的方法，也是目标。这一主线贯穿整个教学的全过程。在教学过程中结合生活实际、不断探索好的方法、不断反思、把细节做完美，才能事半功倍、教学相长。

本学期我继续担任高二3、4两个理科班的英语科教学，根据学期初制定的教学计划，现已基本完成教学任务。这一学期来，本人更进取地去了解学生，去摸清学生的学习基础，以便以更好的“因材施教”。在教学中认真备课、上课、听课、评课，及时批改作业、讲评作业，做好课后辅导工作，广泛涉猎各种知识，构成比较完整的知识结构，严格要求学生，尊重学生，发扬教学民主，使学生学有所得，从而不断提高自我的教学水平和思想觉悟，并顺利完成教育教学任务。
下头是本人对一学期教学工作的一个评价。
理科班男生多，而多数男生厌恶背单词，所以他们最大的难关就是单词关，词汇量少，严重影响了他们对英语的学习兴趣。针对这一点，我在日常的教学中异常重视学生对词汇的学习与积累，要求单词每课过关，并且每课都进行单词听写，要求人人过关，不断督促学生多背单词、短语及一些好的句子。可是，每个班总是有5、6个学生就是不肯去背单词。
由于是新教材，对每课的教材处理，在备课组内都会先进行认真的讨论，并结合新课标的要求，进行取舍，真正做到了用教材教学，而不是单纯地教教材。每一堂课，我都是结合我们学生的实际情景，精心地备课并认真写好教案。课后能及时进行反思评价，不断提高自我的业务水平。
本学期我们选用英语周报作为教辅材料，充分发挥了它的作用。每周进行俩次听力训练，选用部分随堂练习作为课堂巩固练习。周报上的完形填空和语法填空，要求大家认真去完成并及时讲评。阅读理解和写作部分作为选做资料，一小部分基础差的学生，我只要求他们选做容易的题。另外，每班有15人，鼓励她们每周写一篇作文，我都采取当面批改，经过一段时间的训练，这部分学生的书面表达本事有了很大的提高。我认为本学期我在分层次布置作业方面，取得了不错的成效。
课后我进取参与听课、评课，虚心向同行学习教学方法，博采众长，提高教学水平。
一学期来，所任教班级学生的英语学习兴趣及本事有所提高，在学校组织的历次考试中，成绩提高明显。
总之，一份耕耘，一份收获。教学工作苦乐相伴。我将一向以“勤学、善思、真抓、实干”为准则，一如既往，再接再励，继续做好培优扶中和辅差工作，把自我的教学工作做到扎实有效。
