application for russesu scholarship
my name is zhao ruoyu. i e from uibe(university of international business and economics) as an exchange student. i hope to apply for the russesu scholarship. firstly, i would like to make a brief introduction of my study of japan and the japanese language.
speak of my major, you may be surprised because i major in interpreting between chinese and korean. you may wonder why i learned japanese all by myself for that was absolutely not easy work. that is because i was totally attracted by japanese culture and society, especially their eating habits which reflects wisdom and attitudes towards life. through the nhk documentary , i got to feel very proud of japan ,for the reason that after the second world war, japanese people’s dream was shattered, but their wisdom ,diligence, sense of responsibility and innovation helped them to rebuilt the economy ,the society and then the whole country. so i spared no efforts learning japanese by myself. until now , i have learned japanese for almost three years andhave passed jlpt n1.
secondly i would like to draw a plan of study at ritsumeikan university. although i stay in japan for only four months, i hope that this period will be the best memory in my life and it can be a plus when i hunt for a job in . as i have learned some courses about
econo(:)mics and marketing before, i will try to connect the knowledge mastered to the courses at ritsumeikan university, trying to learn more about the history of japanese economy development.and their modern marketing strategy. at the same time , i will make more munications with our professors without fear or embarrassment. after school ,i will take part in some club activities which is a good chance to get to know more japanese friends.
thirdly i intend to introduce my plan after pletion of the exchange program. i have applied for a position in hr department in ali-baba,which is a famous chinese b2b electronic platform through an internship program. i think it will be a great stage for me to turn the knowledge learned at ritsumeikan university into practice. after that i may start to hunt for a job in japanese panies in china which can offer me more chances to go between china and japan.
finally i would like to make an explanation that why i try to apply for the scholarship. last semester i got to know a friend majoring in interpreting between chinese and japanese. she lent me a book on japanese marketing strategy which could only be bought in japan. reading the book is just like listening to a lecture by a japanese professor which is so fantastic. and i have planned to buy a lot of books in japan reflecting japanese society, policy and culture which means that i will have the great honor to be panied by a professor talking to me even when i go back to china. besides , as chinese saying goes reading a lot of books and go traveling a lot makes a person wise. so i hope to go outside, trying to find out more which can not be learned through books in classroom.only when i melt myself in different cities and different groups ,can it widen my horizons. i wish that when i go back to china , i will be able to talk about japan from various prospects through my owns as a chinese college student born after 1990. signature: zhao ruoyudate: .03.17

Dear ,
I always believe that the opportunities only dawned on those with fullpreparations. On Nov. 17 this year, I participated in the selective trial of theregistered accountants held by China Registered Accountant Association, in whichI ranked to the top in the examinations and will be sent to practise in the biginternational accounting company in foreign country. It is a very competitivetrial with over 150 excellent students majoring in accounting as theparticipators, including those in University and University. When myfriend asked me how I prepared for this contest and got such a good score, Itold them that the only thing I did was to keep a smooth heart and fullconfidence towards the precipitate contest. Actually, for years, I have neverstopped making preparations by learning carefully and diligently for the comingof the contest.
Two years ago when I first entered our university, I was selected into thebest class in our school for my outstanding score. This class consists of 150excellent students out of 3000 freshmen that year with the best professors(Including the president of the school, department dean and the doyen professorson every subject) teaching us. Therefore, my view was largely broadened in thenutritious studying atmosphere, where I was deeply influenced by theirresearching experience and personal charms as well as learning abundantprofessional knowledge and cultivating my unique ideas. Besides, many of mylearning habits and thinking styles came from the study there. Meanwhilehowever, I also shouldered heavy pressure because we must be the best in such aclass under the attention of all the teachers and students in the school. Therefore, I tried to do everything perfectly without missing any small problem. At the end of last year, I happened to find the suggestion collection paper forthe “Asset Decrease Accounting Standard” on the website, which was quitedifferent from what I learnt in books. Cherishing the aroused interest, I spentover one month in learning this standard carefully by reading large amount offiles and discussing with my teacher for the cognition of the developingprocess, problems and influence to the registered companies of the AssetDecrease Calculation. Finally, I published my article on the core magazine of“Finance and Accounting”. Besides, I am a girl who liked challenges. Oncompleting my study in the three years, I accepted many challenges without anyhesitation. I could get much pleasure when racing with time because I believethat the valuable use of every minute means the success. Therefore, I was veryexcited to be able to enter the graduate school one year earlier than otherstudents in class taking advantage of my insistent efforts to learn twice asmuch knowledge as them. Meanwhile, I am very proud that I got the firstscholarship in my sophomore year for my excellent score.
In spite of the limited spare time with 5-6 hours on my daily courses, Iactively found many opportunities to do the extracurricular work. For example, Iasked my teacher for assisting him with his subject and helping him to summarizethe files because I am always trying to form my own points by summarizing theknowledge I learnt. I think that study is an active action, which required me tofind some opportunities to improve myself independently. Taking advantage of myexcellent behavior, I was finally admitted by the professors and participated inthe Social and Scientific Layout Project: “Research on the AccountingInformation Transmission Mechanism based on the Company Management” by Professor, in which I was mainly responsible for the Comparison of the StatisticsInformation Transmission Mechanism among the main countries in the world as theassistant of Professor Through the collection and summarization of thehundreds of files, I further improved reading ability from over ten pages of theChinese files per hour at the beginning to large amount of English files as wellas picking up some useful information per hour. Therefore, my abilities in theinformation seeking and estimation were largely improved.
My campus life is rich and colorful. As the vice president of theStudents’Union, who was mainly responsible for the work of Science andTechnology Association, I must organize some meaningful extracurricularactivities for students with the other members of the Students’ Union like thedebates and speech contests etc. In this process, my leadership, organizing andteam managing abilities were largely improved. In addition, I was also involvedin the work of External Relations Department, which was very difficult andcomplicated because this department is just similar to the Public RelationDepartment in the company. It was established mainly to connect with the leadersof the corporations for the fund to our campus activities. It was just theparticular work in this department that presented me with a strong communicatingability. Generally, I think that my participation and organization of theseextracurricular activities has improved my comprehensive ability, which is veryhelpful for my future study.

Dear ,
Think about the decisions you have made that led to your current position.Past: What choices have you made that led to your current position present: whyis astern mba necessary at this point in your life? future: what is your desiredposition upon graduation from the Stern school I have always desired a careerthat requires innovation, educated risk, and foresight. I learned to respectthese qualities from my father, a Lebanese immigrant who worked for years tocreate his own business. Through his example, I have seen firsthand theadvantages and challenges of self-employment--the rewards to be gained and thetotal commitment required. My goal is to create a business based on my own ideasand efforts, and have made decisions aimed at bringing this dream into fruition. After graduating from college, I accepted a position as the manager of anestablished German restaurant in San Francisco. I had been the evening managerthere for nearly two years while attending college, and knew that the restaurantwas struggling. For several years, high overhead costs and poor marketing hadbrought revenue to a minimum. I saw the position as an intriguing challenge; Iknew I could dramatically increase the restaurant’ s profitability. Immediatelyafter accepting the position in July of 1995,I addressed the most significantproblem: high overhead from over staffing, food waste, and unnecessary purchasesof supplies. I lowered each of these expenses while maintaining the restaurant’s quality and efficiency. My next target was marketing. Inexpensiveadvertisement in local newspapers, attractive signage, and Internet postingsbrought in many new customers. In the meantime, I took control of theaccounting, eliminating the need for independent help. The increased revenue anddecreased spending had an immediate effect. At the end of 1996, the restaurantreported a profit for the first time in six years. I remained with the businessuntil it was sold in 1997, monitoring these changes in order to provide lastingimprovement. Although the position made me realize that the restaurant businessdid not appeal to me, those two years reaffirmed my desire to operate my ownbusiness. I had not abandoned my education during that time; while working atthe restaurant, I had taken real estate courses in the evening and passed theCalifornia State Broker exam in . My brother and I launched our own propertymanagement company in April of 1996,and it quickly grew. We currently have sevencommercial properties under management. Our responsibilities include leasing, accounting, and property maintenance. In 1997, I began working as a broker witha commercial real estate company, largely to gain the knowledge of retail toimprove the leasing and sales division of my company. I am currently employed ina sales position with a private business bank in San Francisco.
I was hired to bring business into the bank, which rarely advertises, prefer ring to attract business primarily from referrals. My responsibilitiesinclude interacting with potential clients, selling loans and deposits, andaccount maintenance. This job has given me better understanding of sales andfinance, which is crucial to the success of any business. Although my ultimategoal is to grow our property management company into a full time business, thesepositions in other industries have been invaluable learning aids. Propertymanagement requires an extensive knowledge of real estate, banking, accountingand sales. I now feel confident that I have gained valuable experience with mywork.
However, I know that earning a graduate degree will further enhance theskills I need to develop a viable company. The Leonard N. Stern School ofBusiness at New York University will allow me to learn from the finest teachers, interact with the brightest students, and experience one of the top graduateprograms in the United States. I can only anticipate the invaluable knowledgeand training I will gain from being a part of this program.
Although my work experience has been extremely important, the NYU SternSchool of Business will be equally as educational. It will allow me toincorporate my experiences with other equally ambitious students, and to broadenmy goals, ideas and perspectives. A graduate degree in Management andOrganizational Behavior is a significant asset to any business owner. The firstyear curriculum of accounting, management, finance, marketing, and economicswill enhance my knowledge of the basic foundations of business and management.During my second semester, I will enroll in the track courses of EntrepreneurialStudies. These classes will teach me advanced business techniques and theirsuccessful implementation. In addition, Stern-sponsored, non-academicentrepreneurial organizations will be both educational and enjoyable. I viewthese as an opportunity to meet students who share similar goals. They willexpand my awareness of new business concepts within our quickly evolvingeconomy--which I hope to incorporate into my own company. The experiencesavailable at NYU are myriad, and a degree from the Stern School will propel metoward the realization of my professional goals.

due to the comprehensiveness of china’s “reform and open” policies, economics plays an increasingly important role in the development of its globalposition. though more and more companies built, management of companies cannotcatch up with the development of the companies. management is a burgeoning fieldin china, so i hope i can acquire more modern knowledge on management inengland.
the roots of my strong interest in business can be traced back to mychildhood. my father was among the first of china’s new breed of modernentrepreneurs. as a young girl, it was inspirational hearing about his businessventures, and meeting the varied and interesting circle of entrepreneurs. mymother was also involved in business as an accountant, helping him with simplecalculations. and so it was early in my life that i hoped i, also, would somedaybe able to enter the realm of business.
with the time of growing up, i preferred reading books to satisfy mycuriosity. i never ceased to contemplate over the questions i encountered.subjects on business and management became a special fascination to me and myknowledge of psychology as well as interest in this field was increasingrapidly.
as a high school student in china, i had to concentrate on the collegeentrance examination (cee), even so, books not related to the exams were neverexcluded from my life. unfortunately when sitting in the exam in june, 20__, iwas so nervous that i didn’t score well in the cee exam. i enrolled in thedepartment of computer science in zhejiang college of traditional chinesemedicine. any attempt to persuade myself to focus on my major turned out to be afailure at the beginning of my college life. after several terms, i realizedthat i would never be interested in being a programmer or an engineer. at thatmoment, i lost my direction and objectives. my persistence in reading saved mefrom the dark situation. as a matter of fact, i enjoyed reading the booksincluded encyclopedia american, and some books about management by peterf.drucker. i began to notice something interesting: why some companies canproduce more than others? why some company can sell more than others? why somecompanies can build up but others cannot when facing the same difficulties?
with the questions in my mind, i started to read many relevant books. i waslucky to read the book “jack: straight from the gut”by jack welch, in which johna. byrne makes a clear illustration that the management is important for acompany. when i was a junior, i ran a bookshop
by myself near my school. i should manage not only the finance in the shopbut also the employees in my shop even made some strategies to enlarge thebusiness in my shop to hold on the run the shop. from this, my interpersonalskills and the capacity in business has been greatly developed, definitely i wasincreasingly interested in what i was doing. by december, 20__, i had finallydetermined to take business management as my career instead of it. to accumulatemore relevant knowledge, i strived to gain more practical work experience insome big companies.
fortunately, as a senior, i began by conducting an internship in thearchitecture company in zhejiang province. over six months, i worked as anassistant of the manager to harmonize the relationship between the differentdepartments in this company and to draft some management system, which broadenedmy perspective of management conditions and business performance in differentindustries. the experience showed me that management is much more important thanthat of i thought in big companies. after graduation, i continued my work inthis company. in may, 20__, the company offered me an opportunity to participatein an training program held by a famous management school. through in-depthdiscussions with teachers and students in the classes, they all encouraged me topursue my future career in management field because of my intellectual abilityand the brand new ideas i mentioned.
during the short period of training, i realized that pursuing a higherdegree in management is a wise choice for me now. lancaster, with its excellencein management, represents the perfect fit for my needs. in your challengingenvironment, i can build the required foundation of knowledge related tomanagement to achieve my goals. i am firmly convinced that your admission willbe my first step of success. with this in mind, i hereby submit my application, and await your favorable reply.

Dear teacher:
Hello!
My name is __, this year__, and I am a senior high school student from__provincial__ senior middle school. Thank you for taking time out of your busyschedule to read my cover letter.
Your school has a long history, profound cultural heritage, rich teachingresources, and a good academic atmosphere. It has cultivated many outstandingtalents for the society, and many majors are among the best in China. Many of myelder brothers and sisters unanimously choose your school as their first choice.I am also eager to get the acceptance letter from your school next summer. Ihope to become a student of your school, hope to study in your school, andbecome a talent for society and the motherland, and hope to become a gloriousstudent of your school. Witness of history. I hope that this self-enrollmenttest can change my life track and put me in the arms of your school. I hope tobe accepted by your school.
I chose your school because I think your school focuses on both process andresults. I think I am personally suitable to receive education in yourschool.
I come from the high school science experiment class. In this class of masterRulin, my academic performance always has the upper hand. This kind ofachievement makes me firmly rooted in the forefront of the school's academicperformance. In fact, my potential is still great, and my score still has roomfor appreciation. My in-depth analysis of the problem and my proficiency inknowledge are not fully reflected in my volume. Many times, my answer iscorrect, but the problem-solving process is not understood by the gradingteacher. Sometimes the process is clear, but the result is missed with thecorrect answer due to a small mistake.
I am quite proud of the results in the Olympiad. How to put it, the resultsare not the best, but they are enough to make me proud. When I was in the firstyear of high school, I participated in the chemistry competition and won thecity's third prize. At that time, I was just trying my skills for the firsttime. In the second year of high school, I opened a biology class. My interestin biology made me participate in the competition class without hesitation, anddevoted myself to the vast ocean of "biology". In fact, it was only more thanten days away from the city competition and the provincial competition. Onlyhalf a month can be prepared. I was eager to finish a 600-page "Biology OlympiadTutorial" in less than ten days, and at the same time I did dozens of exercises. The effort paid off, I entered the provincial competition as the second in the__ city competition. In order to meet the provincial competition, I taughtmyself biology at the university and did the Olympiad test questions for nearlyfive years. I was busy late at night and rushed to the school library early inthe morning. At that time, the school was holding the Summer Games, athleteswere sweating like rain on the field, and I was sweating in the sultry room. Iwas well prepared, confident, and sure to win. I even praised Haikou: "Strivefor saving one, save two." Now it seems that I was like a bow at that time, bothmentally and physically. Overfilled, days of exhaustion have crossed the cordonlike a flood. As a result, I did not bring my dreams into reality, and I missedthe second prize of the province by a two-point gap. I only won the third prizeof the province. At that time, I was very sad and sad for what I had given. Mymother advised me: "This process of hard work is a lot of wealth in life." Itseems that even if it is the third prize of the province, it is not very good inthe independent enrollment. Does it make a big difference? Doesn't it also helpme move closer to my favorite university? I think the Olympiad is anunforgettable experience for me. It shows me that the process is as important asthe result.
I am a science major, and I am careful and well-founded in doing things. Inot only value IQ, but I also attach great importance to the development of EQwhile developing the brain's intellectual resources. I was a math classrepresentative when I was in the first year of high school. At that time, Ireceived and sent homework every day to help teachers complete teaching tasks. Iwas divided into classes in the second year of high school liberal arts andscience, and was elected by the students as the representative of the biologyclass. In addition to studying, I often help those students with weak biologyand explain their difficult problems. Therefore, I was welcomed by the studentsand was selected as the representative for many times. Three good students. Itake an active part in class activities, and have edited historical dramas"Tiger Symbol" and "Thunderstorm", which were warmly praised by my classmates. In the debate contest organized by the school, I helped my class to win sixstraight games and hung the banner of "first place".
My hobby of literature has broadened my horizons and broadened my thinking. Ihave published more than ten essays in provincial and municipal newspapers, andI have many articles on the _ website. I think a big tree, no matter how big itis, its roots are always deep in the ground. The roots of literature are deeplyrooted in our country's long traditional culture. I like "Journey to the West",especially "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and I love "A Dream of RedMansions". I love "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" as much as it is simpleand cool, and I love "A Dream of Red Mansions" as much as its gentleness. When Iread that Zhuge Liang has fallen to the Five Battlefields, I always lamentinfinitely. Every time I read the scene before Lin Daiyu's death, the sentence"Baoyu, you -------" that tried my best, couldn't help but pick up the sentence"Baoyu, you are so cruel." Then I felt heartache. I think, "The Romance of theThree Kingdoms" taught me to look at problems with suspicion, and "Dream of RedMansions" taught me to solve problems with ideal eyes. I use traditionalclassics to build a unified bridge between ideal and reality.
In my opinion, high school students should develop all-round moral, intellectual, physical, and beautiful. What high school cultivates is not only"talents" with a large amount of knowledge reserves, but also "talents" who canfully utilize their knowledge reserves. ". The goal of my high school is notonly to be admitted to a prestigious university like yours, and to have a goodfood and clothing in the future. My high school goal is to become an all-roundhigh-quality talent with thought, morality, knowledge and skills. I want toimmerse myself in the modernization of the motherland like fire. I don't want tobecome a person who has an empty stomach and a lot of money, but has nothing todo and spends a lifetime. To me, your school is the Great Wall in my heart. Ithink that only by entering your school can you "heroes have a place to do theirbest". Looking forward to your recognition!

In the 20xxNational League, won the first prize of Shaanxi Division in Mathematics andChemistry second prize. Here I want to talk about the experience ofparticipating in the national biology competition during the summer vacation. When I came to Wuhan No. 2 Middle School, with my smile and affinity, I metfriends from all over the country, chatted with each other, and shared ideals; Iunderstood the outer building of Qingshanlou outside the mountain. Compared withthe elites in the country, I still have a lot of places. I need to improve; Ihave learned that even if I encounter setbacks, I never give up. It is moreimportant to adjust my mentality to meet the next challenge... All of these areprecious experiences that I will never forget in my life, and they have alsogiven me a deeper understanding" The school motto of "Keep on striving forself"
I have a wide range of hobbies: Although I am a science student, I am veryinterested in history and humanities knowledge. In my spare time, I like towatch the "Hundreds of Forums" and watch the Chinese learning knowledge conteston TV, and I intend to improve my comprehensive literacy. I used to studyChinese painting when I was a child. I like to write letters and ink on my life.I like the distant and transcendence of "landscape drags thousands of milesaway"; I also learned the guzheng, and I like to pick and pick on the twenty-onestringed piano. I like "High Mountain and Flowing Water" to meet and hate late, like "Chunjiang Huayueye" graceful sadness; in junior high school, I went tolearn taekwondo, I like to listen to the crisp sound of kicking the target withmy legs breaking through the air. Taekwondo spirit-courtesy, justice and shame, patience and self-denial, unyielding-is firmly engraved in the heart andpracticed.
My ideal: I have liked seeing all kinds of buildings since I was young. Thefirst light of every solar day in the Temple of Abu Simbel, the towering spiresof Notre Dame Cathedral, and the sails of the Sydney Opera House all make meDeeply fascinated. I hope to become a member of the Department of Architectureand form my own unique architectural style, so as to realize my ultimatedream-to participate in the design of the China Pavilion at the future WorldExpo, and let the world see the elegance of China!
I like Tagore's poem: "The sky does not leave traces of birds, but I haveflown." For my dream-, I have accumulated strength for many years, waiting forthe moment of thin hair. No matter what the result is, at least I have workedhard for my dream and for my life, then I will never regret it. Perhaps when Ithink of the experience of this period when I am pale and gray, I will alsosmile for my persistence at the beginning and the determination to break theboat when I was young.
"There will be times when the winds and waves break, and the sails will behung up on the clouds to help the sea." Yuan, wait for me!
Yours sincerely,
